Atmospheric Re-Entry Vehicle

To advance our capabilities in high-performance aerospace engineering, the NextGen Aero-Energy Core team is currently tackling complex aerodynamics on a Hypersonic Re-entry Vehicle (CEV). In situations of re-entry, the capsule can reach up to speeds of Mach 6 to Mach 20, sometimes even higher. This is the region where the physics gets absurdly hard, where the laws of physics combined with the chemistry of the molecules create such intricate phenomena.

The contour generated by the team clearly demonstrates the development of a bow shockwave ahead of the heat shield, accompanied by two distinct vortices right behind the docking port.
