Tanvir Ahmed, PhD. A name of our very own, right from the very first batch of the Mechanical Engineering Program of AUST.
The AUST Applied Simulation and Modeling Lab is proudly connecting to the jewels the department has produced. We are incredibly honored to welcome him back to his Alma Mater.
Now making his mark globally as a Postdoctoral Associate at UT Dallas, Dr. Ahmed is returning to his roots to share his expertise. In his session, "Finding Beauty in Asymmetry: The Physics of Fluid Flows," he will dive deep into the mesmerizing world of fluid dynamics.

Meet our second speaker, Mr. Mahmudul Islam, a PhD Candidate in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His research focuses on High-Entropy Alloys (HEAs) and alloy design.
The AUST Applied Simulation and Modeling Lab is honored to welcome him for an exciting session in our seminar series. We are excited to host a scholar whose research is contributing to one of the most rapidly evolving fields in modern materials science.
In his session, "High-Entropy Alloys: Reinventing Metallurgy,"he will share insights into High-Entropy Alloys and their applications in materials science.

Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed, our final speaker, is a researcher whose academic journey has taken him from Bangladesh to some of the world's leading research institutions.
The AUST Applied Simulation and Modeling Lab is honored to welcome him for an inspiring session in our seminar series. We are excited to host a scholar whose research career has taken him through the Ivy League and into collaborations with leading scientific organizations.
Currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Dartmouth College, Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed earned his PhD from Brown University and is affiliated with NASA, JPL, and the US Navy. In his session, "Breaking into the Ivy League: Research, Persistence, and the Path from Bangladesh," he will share insights from his journey to international research.
Here is what to expect:
Learn about the importance of research, Ivy League admissions, SOP writing, CV preparation, and contacting professors, as well as how to enroll in graduate courses at prestigious overseas universities.
